i have had numerous people ask me “when are you going to get a real job?” or “when are you going to stop trying to be an actress”
and i always say “never” i’m not trying to be an actress, i am an actress! i’m not “famous” or working as many acting jobs as i would like, but i’m ready + available + trained + keep honing my craft.
whatever dream or goal you are pursuing, nothing happens over night. to quote my amazing mother again “ success happens when opportunity and preparation meet, but most people see it disguised as hard work.”
staying focused, motivated to moving closer to your goal everyday is not always easy, actually it’s just plain challenging sometimes.
i’m still challenged and get discouraged but there are a two things i try to do everyday to keep me on track.
*waking up 30 minutes before i have to: getting to sit in bed with a cup of coffee and checking in allows me to not start the day off feeling rushed and makes me more energized and ready to tackle the day.
*making the bed every morning (ok real talk, sometimes i have to be somewhere earlier than my boyfriend, and i’m not going to wake him up to make the bed, but almost every morning…) knowing that i have already accomplished something before i leave the house, and getting to climb into a made bed, starts and ends my day on a good note.
